INGREDIENTS
Serves 4 as a starter

  • 1 whole round Camembert
  • 50g soft eat dried apricots
  • 40g walnut halves
  • 50ml aged balsamic vinegar
  • 1tbsp soft brown sugar of honey
  • 1 loaf of walnut bread

METHOD

Heat the oven to 180°C.

Finely slice the walnut bread these need to be really wafer thin.

Now place the slices of bread onto a baking tray and bake in the oven for around 8mins until they are golden brown and crisp. Leave to cool.

Take the Camembert out of the box and remove the waxed paper its wrapped in and place on a baking tray ready for the oven.

Finely chop the walnuts and the apricots and place in a bowl with the sugar or honey and cover with the balsamic vinegar. Mix together and then Top the cheese with the fruit and nut mix and place in the pre heated oven until the centre is soft around 6-8mins.

Serve hot with the walnut crisps and slices of pear and apple if you like.
